![]() Anyway I found this post which has some other options I'm going to try. I cannot disable it using ThrottleStop as the option is grayed out. Seems like a BIOS/firmware issue or possibly a common hardware issue like a bad thermistor. This is caused by a feature called BD PROCHOT which is supposed to throttle the CPU only when it's above 90C but all of the cores are below 32C so it doesn't make any sense. My CPU is constantly throttled to just 0.19GHz (it's supposed to be 2.4GHz). This seems to have fixed the faulty thermal throttling.Įdit: I've finally found the problem and it's apparently pretty common for Sufrace Pro 7s. ![]() ![]() Edit 2: I fixed it by going into the registry (regedit.exe) and changing the value of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\intelppm\Start from 3 to 4.
